I spent a wonderful couple of hours at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland one morning last week. I wasn’t sure what I’d find this late in the season. I was pleasantly surprised by what I found.
The first two flowers I photographed were varieties of asters.
Bluebird Asters – a smooth aster (aster laevis)

Jindai Aster – a tatarian aster (aster tataricus)
A wonderful red-purple dahlia

In the rose garden – I found a wonderful Madame A. Meilland rose to photograph. This is a Peace Hybrid Tea Rose.

And finally some Butterfly Light Lavender Egyptian Star Cluster flowers (Pentas lanceolata)
I love spending time photographing at Brookside Gardens – usually from early March through mid-October I can find something wonderful to photograph! 🙂
Beautiful shots. I really the way you shot the Jintai Aster.
Hey my goodness, I saw this post. I have never been to Brookside Gardens. I missed the most joyful moment of my life. I will plan this weekend to Brookside Gardens. Fantastic photos! I am sure you have enjoyed your day with the flowers 🙂
