They say April Showers Bring May Flowers. Which means with 30 gardens in the Philadelphia are, that should be a perfect place to spend a week photographing flowers.
I would love to have you join me for a week of photographing flowers this May. Not only will we spend time photographing in several of the gardens in the Philadelphia area, we’ll also explore how to create the photographs that let you share the beauty you are seeing in nature.
The gardens we’ll be visiting may include Chanticleer, Jenkins Arboreatum, Longwood Gardens, Mt. Cuba Center, Presby Memorial Iris Gardens, and Winterthur Museum and Garden. Final decisions about which gardens to visit will depend on schedule, weather and most importantly – what’s blooming where the third week in May!

At the workshop you will . . .
- Have a great time photographing at gardens and parks in the greater Philadelphia area
- Compose photographs that allow you to share what caught your eye in the field
- Capture the beauty you see in your photographs
During the workshop, we’ll visit at least four gardens or parks to photograph flowers. We will head to the places that have the best displays that week. We may even head over to New Jersey to visit my favorite Iris Garden.
We will gather at our hotel for discussions of the art and craft of flower photography.
The workshop is limited to 6 participants to ensure that I’m able to give you the personalized attention you should get in a photography workshop.

Tentative Schedule:
Monday May 15 – Morning photo session at a garden, workshop orientation in the afternoon
Tuesday May 16 – Morning photo session at a garden, afternoon classroom session
Wednesday May 17 – Morning photo session at a garden, afternoon classroom session
Thursday May 18 – Morning photo session at a garden, afternoon classroom session
Friday May 19 – Morning photo session at a garden, drive to New Jersey, late afternoon session at a garden
Saturday May 20 – Morning session at a garden, adjourn by noon.
A few more details:
Food, lodging, transportation, and garden admissions are not included in the cost of the workshop. I will send you information a few weeks before the workshop with all the details about when and where we will be meeting.
We will photograph on both every day – rain or shine. Be prepared for photographing in late spring conditions – sunscreen, bug spray and bottled water make for much more pleasant time in the field.

You can always transfer your reservation to anyone else, at any time, with no penalty. Can’t attend? Send a spouse, friend or colleague in your place!

We charge a $25 handling fee on all refunds (read #3 and #4 below).

Prior to April 1, 2017, we will gladly refund the balance of fees you paid to us (less the $25 handling fee). We are not responsible for airfare or other expenses you may incur.
