I recently photographed a couple of different types of agave plants. Agave’s are succulents generally found in Mexico and the desert southwest of the US.
The first one I photographed was an Agave Potatorum. I was fascinated by the patters and texture in the leaves.

From above, the typical rosette shape of the plant is clear.

The second agave I photographed was Agave Stricta or Hedgehog Agave. The plant got its name from people who thought the center of the plant looked like a baby hedgehog.

I can’t remember photographing any agave before this pair. I really like the shapes and textures in the plants. I’ll definitely be photographing more agaves as I find them.
