I’ve recently added a new photo – Woodland Wildthings Dahlia – to my website at https://beautifulflowerpictures.com/store/dahlia-woodland-wildthings/

This Woodland Wildthings Dahlia is one of most eye-catching dahlias I’ve ever seen. The combination of red, orange and yellow made it stand out in a room full of dahlias. And as I explored photographing this incredible flower, I noticed one of the petals had a twist in it – that just gave the whole flower even more personality that a similar dahlia nearby.

This photograph is available matted to 12 X 20 for $ 84 and 16 X 24 for $ 134

I love Parrot Tulips. When this one opened up the petals folded outward allowing me to capture the beauty of the fully open blossom in a way I have seldom seen before.

Join Me for One of My Workshops in 2019

Join Me for One of My Workshops in 2019

As you’re reading this, I’m in Rochester, New York attending a workshop on Digital Negative Making for Alternative & Historic Process Printing at the George Eastman Museum. I love creating the kallitypes I’ve been doing of the old cemeteries, so I’m taking a workshop that will help me make better negatives to print from.

I don’t know about you, but I’m always interested in learning more about various aspects of photography. I try to attend at least two photography workshops a year. Last year I studied abstract photography with Art Wolfe and still life photography with Karen Burns and Marie Otero. I’m still trying to figure out what my second workshop for this year will be.

If you’re like me and always wanting to learn more about photography, I invite you to join me for one of the workshops I’ll be teaching this year.

On a recent trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania I spent some time photographing at the Central Market. Founded in 1730, Central Market is oldest continuously operated farmer’s market in the country! The market is currently housed in a Romanesque Revival style building constructed in 1889. Within the market, 65 vendors sell everything from meat to produce, flowers to baked goods, and everything in between. The market is open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. If you’re in Lancaster, it’s well worth taking time out to visit the market (and get something to eat).

As I looked at the display at the Sweet Shop, I loved how the basked on the counter stood out from the shelf of treats behind it. I could just imagine a couple of little kids telling their Mom which candies they wanted her to buy them at the market.

This photograph is available matted to 11 X 14 for $ 54 or 16X20 for $ 109

I’ve recently added a new photo – Green Glass- to my website at https://beautifulflowerpictures.com/store/abstractgreenglass/

As I saw this through my camera, I felt like I was exploring an undersea world of microscopic critters emerging from a primordial ooze. What I was actually looking at was bubbles in an old windshield glass in an abandoned car at Old Car City in White, Georgia. Seeing and sharing something totally different from what I actually was photographing is one of the things I love about creating abstract photographs.
