This is another photograph in my series of flowers photographed as portraits with custom backgrounds designed to highlight what I see as the personality of the flowers. When I saw these amazing carnations at the store, they reminded me of so many strong women I know – happy to shine, let people know they are here, and not afraid to share their views. So of course, such a strong woman, would insist on a brightly colored background in colors as vibrant as her personality.

This is another photograph in my series of flowers photographed as portraits with custom backgrounds designed to highlight what I see as the personality of the flowers. To me, daffodils have always been the bright happy flowers signifying the coming of spring, and this year, hopefully the end of the pandemic. So as I photographed this daffodil, I saw her cheerfully greeting a new day, a wonderful spring, and hopefully better days ahead.
Flower from Plantmasters, a local flower farm in Maryland.
