A few members of the amaryllis family

A few members of the amaryllis family

It seems like every spring, I spend a few days photographing daffodils and other members of the amaryllis family. This year I photographed wonderful daffodils at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia and at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland. I also photographed some Summer Snowflakes at Brookside Gardens.

Wildflowers Along the C&O Canal

Wildflowers Along the C&O Canal

I recently spent an afternoon photographing spring wildflowers along the C&O Canal in Montgomery County Maryland. The area I was photographing in is part of the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park. It was one of those days where everywhere I looked, I saw more wonderful wildflowers to photograph. I thought I’d share some of my photos from the day with you today.

I’ve recently added a new photograph – April Showers – to my website at https://beautifulflowerpictures.com/store/april-showers/

While photographing at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia in April, I spotted this wonderful sculpture of two young children under an umbrella. And then I spotted all the wonderful pink dogwood blossoms behind them. So instead of avoiding a rain shower, I imagined the children were deciding to close their umbrella and head out into a shower of falling dogwood blossoms.

This photograph is available matted to 14 X 11 and 20 X 16

I’ve recently added a new photograph – Grape Hyacinths – to my website at https://beautifulflowerpictures.com/store/grape-hyacinths/

Grape hyacinths are one of the wonderful flowers that bloom in the early spring. They always add a wonderful pop of shades of purple in the garden. When I seen them blooming, I know it’s just a matter of time until the daffodils bloom, followed by the tulips, and then irises. It had been a long winter, so I was especially happy to see this set of grape hyacinths blooming at one of the local gardens that year.

Grape Hyacinths is available matted to 20 X 12 inches and 24 X 16 inches.

The same day I photographed the Yulan Magnolias at the National Arboreatum, I also photographed the blossoms on two Star Magnolia trees.

I’ve recently added a new photo – Rainbow Parrot Tulip – to my website at https://beautifulflowerpictures.com/store/rainbowparrottulip/

I’m not really sure what kind of parrot tulip this is but with almost every color of the rainbow in the petals of various tulips in the bunch, I decided to call it a rainbow parrot tulip. As I photographed the petals, I was amazed at all the colors and textures I was seeing.

This photo is available matted to 12 X 20 for $ 84.00 and 16 X 24 for $ 134.
