I spent a wonderful week photographing fall color in the mountains of Tennessee. This is one of the photos I captured in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I was amazed at the sense of beauty and peacefulness I found in the woods that day. My hope is that this photo allows you to experience them as well.

Dahlias are some of my favorite flowers to photograph. I particularly like the dahlias with white and purple petals – so of course, I had to buy and photograph this lovely Amanda Dahlia.

When I saw this miltonia orchid at a local garden, I was fascinated by the patterns created on the lip of the flowers. They reminded me of rivers and islands photographed from above.

Color Reflections – New Photo

When I saw these colors reflected in the water I knew I had to photograph them. I loved seeing how the yellows, greens, blues and purples shimmered and changed as the water rippled. The colors reminded me of all the wonderful shades of color I see in the wildflowers in the spring

Peaches & Dreams Dahlia Petals – New Photo

Just from the name alone – Peaches and Dreams – I knew I’d love these dahlias. And then I got them into my studio. As I photographed the petals, I kept being reminded of how the mountain ridges overlap from certain viewpoints along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

To get the depth of field I wanted for this photo, I combined 11 images using focus stacking software to create my final image
