Introducing Four New Photographs for August

Usually I’d be introducing my new photos for the month on the first – but since I’m planning some special surprises for the month of August to accompany my solo show Peace, Joy, and Unexpected Beauty: Flower Photography by Patty Hankins that I’ll be letting you know about on Monday, I decided to share my four newest photos with you today. I’ll be blogging about them in the weeks to come – but in the meantime – here they are if you’d like to take a look.

And don’t forget I’ve brought back several of my older sunflower and rose photos for a limited time. These returning favorites will be available until August 31. After that – they won’t be available again until next year.

New Photo: Babe Spray Roses

I’ve recently added a new photo – Babe Spray Roses – to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

When I saw these bright orange Babe spary roses at my local florist, I knew I had to photograph them. I just loved the bright colors and they way their petals looked all bunched together. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to present this photo as a panoramic image or as a rectangle – I liked both crops equally. So for the first time, I’m offering a photo in two different versions.

New Photo: Dune and Adventure Gerbera Daisies

I’ve recently added a new photo – Dune and Adventure Gerbera Daisies – to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

I recently found two bouquets of gerbera daisies at my local grocery store that when I saw them I knew I had to photograph them. The first set were Adventure Gerbera Daisies – bright yellow flowers with a bit of orange near the center. The second set were Dune Gerbera Daisies – bright orange which a bit of yellow near the center. As you can imagine, they were great fun to photograph separately – and together. My favorite photo of the set was this one showing the centers of both types of daisies.

New Photo: Jalah Rose

I’ve recently added a new photo – Jalah Rose – to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

What can I say about a Jalah Rose – other than what a beautiful rose. I loved seeing all the shades of peach and orange in the flowers. And then when I took them into my studio and set one of them up under the lights, I was amazed at the shades of color and detail that I could capture.

New Photo: Lava Chyrsanthemum

I’ve recently added a new photo – Lava Chrysanthemum– to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

Chrysanthemums are some of my favorite fall flowers. They come in so many shapes and varieties that they can add an incredible splash of color and texture to any garden. I fell in love with the Lava Spider Mums when I first saw them. Not only is there a wonderful combination of yellow and pink in the flowers but the center often seems to for a little pink heart.
