I’ve recently added a new photo –  Chincoteague Sunrise Reflections  to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

I love visiting Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and the Assateague National Seashore – especially during the winter. I’ve photographed sunrise from several different locations in the parks. In 2016, I had to find a new spot to photograph sunrise since the beach was being rebuilt after the winter storms. I ended up photographing in one of the channels alongside the road. What caught my eye was how the blue sky and white clouds looked on the water and ice in the channel. I included the relections of the plants along the shore to give a sense of place to the photo.

Chincoteague Sunrise Reflections  is available as a matted print on my website.

I’ve recently added a new photo –  Spanish Moss  to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

The more I photograph in South Carolina and Georgia, the more I’ve fallen in love with Spanish Moss. There’s just something about the way it picks up the light as it drapes on the Live Oak Trees. I took this photo of Spanish Moss on the branches of a live oak tree at Hollins NWR in South Carolina

Spanish Moss  is available as a matted print on my website.

I’ve recently added a new photo –  Sunserba Cineraria – to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

I love photographing members of the aster family – there’s just something about the round shape, the elongated petals and the solid centers that I love. I particularly like the Sunserva Cineraria due to the combination of the bright purple and white in the petals.

Sunserba Cineraria is available as a matted print on my website.

And don’t forget I’ve  brought back several of my older iris and tulip photos for a limited time. These returning favorites will be available until June 30. After that – they won’t be available again until next year when the tulips and irises are blooming.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my latest photos.

I’ve recently added a new photo –  Peppermint Carnations – to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

One of the things I’ve discovered I love about photographing flowers in the my studio is that I can create close-up images of just parts of the flower – like I did in this photo of the petals of a group of peppermint carnations. In a garden, I usually can’t get close enough to the flowers to create images like this. Whereas in my studio, I can get as close as I want to – and move the flowers around so that the photo comes out looking like I wanted it to. When I saw the bold patterns of red and white in these flowers I knew I want to create a photograph that shared the patterns, textures and colors with you.

Peppermint Carnations is available as a matted print on my website.

I’ve recently added a new photo –  Pam Howden Dahlia  – to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

I’ve seen and photographed the amazing Pam Howden Dahlias on several occassions but was never completely happy with my photographs. Last fall, I finally managed to capture a Pam Howden Dahlia in bright light that highlights all the shades of yellow and orange in these wonderful dahlias

Pam Howden Dahlia  is available as a matted print on my website.
