After Mardi Gras in New Orleans

After Mardi Gras in New Orleans

I visited New Orleans a shortly after Mardi Gras a few years ago. One of the big surprises for me was how many homes, particularly in the Garden District, were decorated with Mardi Gras beads.

Here are a few of my favorite photos of beads on fences and ironwork in the Garden District

When I’m in New Orleans – I love to just walk and photograph whatever catches my eye. Here are some of my photos from a trip to New Orleans in 2017.

The 2019 Cats of Catskill, New York – Part 7

The 2019 Cats of Catskill, New York – Part 7

For the past 13 years, the Heart of Catskill Association in Catskill, New York has organized a public art project Cat’N Around Catskill for cat lovers everywhere! Each year, artists decorate cat sculptures and they are placed on Main Street and a few other locations in town. I first saw the Cats in 2017 when I was photographing in the area. Last month, I spent some time in the Hudson River Valley, so of course I had to check out this year’s cats.

This year, there are 52 cats on display. I had a wonderful time photographing the 48 that I found. I’ll be sharing photos of some of them all this week in a series of blog posts.

And so here they are – the 2019 Cats of Catskill
