One of my biggest challenges photographing at the Central Market in Lancaster PA was avoiding eating all the wonderful sweets I was seeing. From cakes to cookies, to pies to candy, there was booth after booth full of wonderful treats – many of them made by local Amish families.
As my final set of photos from the Central Market, I’m sharing my photos of some of the delicious looking sweets I photographed.

I’m continuing to share some of my photos from my visit to the Central Market in Lancaster, PA. As you would expect at a market like this, there were many vendors selling farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. I had a wonderful time photographing some of them as I walked around the market.

I recently spent a few days in Lancaster, PA at a meeting. I took some time on Friday to photograph at the Lancaster Central Market. I ended up with so many photos I liked that I’ll be sharing them in several blog posts.
Several stands in the market sold flowers, so of course I took some time to photograph them. I thought I’d share some of my photos of the flowers at the market with you today.

The Herb Shop booth was one of my favorite places to photograph. Their display of shelves and jars was perfect for photographing still lifes. I could easily have spent an hour photographing at just this one booth.
Here are my photos of The Herb Shop in the market.

I’m back home after a few wonderful days in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I’d gone up to attend an Art Business Mastermind led by my coach Alyson Stanfield. While I was there, I took some time to visit (and photograph) at Lancaster’s historic Central Market.

Founded in 1730, Central Market is oldest continuously operated farmer’s market in the country! The market is currently housed in a Romanesque Revival style building constructed in 1889. Within the market, 65 vendors sell everything from meat to produce, flowers to baked goods, and everything in between. The market is open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. If you’re in Lancaster, it’s well worth taking time out to visit the market (and get something to eat).
Here are a few of my favorite photos I took at the market

I’m already thinking about a return trip to Lancaster County just to spend some more time photographing in the area. If you’re familiar with Lancaster County, is there anywhere you would suggest I spend some time photographing? I’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments section below.

Earlier this year I spent a wonderful morning exploring Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia. Established in 1836, Laurel Hill Cemetery is the second oldest rural cemetery in the United States. The cemetery is full on wonderful statuary. The condition of many of the statues surprised me. They have significantly more wear and damage than statues in other cemeteries I’ve visited. I don’t know if it is the age of the statues, the type of stone or the harsher weather than caused the damage.
I shared some of my photos from Laurel Hill Cemetery last week. Here are the remaining photos
