I’m always amazed at how many different colors, shapes and textures of orchids I see at local botanical gardens. I probably shouldn’t be – since there are over 27,000 species of orchids. I’ve created a new video for you with some of my favorite photographs of orchids. The photos are accompanied by Mozart’s Piano Sonata No 16 Allegro.
I hope you enjoy my video. Please feel free to share it with your friends
It’s hard to believe that it’s almost the end of 2015. As I look back, I’ve had a wonderful year and have so much to be grateful for. I often say that I have the best job in the world – that I photograph flowers. And I really do mean it because not only do I get to spend my time in nature photographing but I also get to talk with people about photography, nature, flower, beautiful landscapes and wonderful places. .
I’ve put together a new video for you this holiday season – Peaceful Beauty 2015. It has some of my favorite photographs that I edited this year accompanied Muzio Clementi’s Sonatina in D Major Op 36 No 3.
As 2015 comes to a close, I’d like to thank you for all your support and encouragement of me this year. It has meant the world to me.
I’d also like to wish you and all your friends and families a very safe, peaceful and wonderful holiday season and a very Happy New Year.
I used to think the Dahlias were an old-fashioned flower that really weren’t very interesting to photograph. Well – let’s just say – after seeing the Philadelphia Dahlia Society show at Longwood Gardens and finding some amazing dahlias at my local farmer’s market and floral wholesaler – I’ve totally changed my mind about dahlias. I now love seeing and photographing them.
I went back over my files and discovered that I actually do have some wonderful photographs of dahlias so I’ve compiled some of them into a video to share what I’ve been seeing with you. The photographs are accompanied by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Rondo Alla Turca.
A sure sign of summer in the DC area is the water lilies start blooming at the local gardens. We’re lucky in the DC area – there are several botanical gardens and parks that feature water lily displays all summer long. They usually start blooming in mid-June and last through mid-September.
I used to think that water lilies were white flowers with yellow centers, not very big and certainly nothing to go out of my way to see. Boy was I wrong – I’ve fallen in love with all the different colors of water lilies I’ve been seeing – wonderful shades of pink, purple, yellow and blue. I’ve created a new video Beautiful Water Lilies with some of my favorite water lily photos. They are accompanied by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Prelude in C Allegro.
I do have a number of water lily photographs available for sale in the water lily gallery on my website, including two introduced in the past few months.
Instead of telling you all about them, I realized the easiest way for me to explain was to show you. So I created a short video with photographs of some of the wildflowers I have photographed in the Smokies in the spring.
I still have a few spaces left in my April 26-30 Spring in the Smokies workshop. Drop me a note if you’d like to photograph wildflowers with me this spring.
Is it spring yet? I don’t know about you but I was bit disappointed when both Punxstawney Phil and Potomac Phil (our local groundhog) saw their shadows earlier this week indicating we’re going to have sixe more weeks of winter. Because I don’t know about you – but I’m certainly ready for spring.
Tulips are one of my favorite spring flowers. Several of the gardens in the Greater Washington DC area plant magnificent tulip displays – which means I get to spend several days photographing tulips each year.
I’ve created a new video with several of my tulip photographs from 2013 and 2014 for you. The photographs are accompanied by Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude in C.
I do have a number of tulip photographs available for sale in the tulip gallery on my website, including two I introduced last fall:
