Christmas at du Pont House, Longwood Gardens – 2015

Continuing with my photos of the Christmas display at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Today’s photos are from du Pont House.

DuPont House was the home of Pierre S. and Alice du Pont. Every year the decorations in the DuPont house continue the theme from the Conservatory – often in a bit more subtle manner.

Every year I’ve visited Longwood at Christmas there has been a beautiful tree in the entry to the du Pont house. Here’s this year’s tree.

 

 

There is usually a tree in what was one of the sitting rooms.

 

Throughout the house – from the mantles to the window sills – there are decorations that tie in with this year’s theme.
