Daydream Tulips

I’ve photographed tulips labeled Daydream twice in recent weeks at Brookside Gardens. They look similar – but not quite the same – so I’m not sure if both sets are labeled correctly. These are one of my favorites of the tulips I’ve seen this year – I just love the combination of colors in the petals – shades of peach, yellow, orange and red.

I first photographed the Daydream tulips early in tulip season, first thing in the morning. So the flowers were just opening up for the day.

The next time I photographed the Daydream Tulips was in the late afternoon on a bright sunny day about two weeks after I photographed the first set. I just loved the way the light lit the petals and created wonderful shapes and shadows among the blossoms.
