For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere today is the first day of Spring – which is probably my favorite time of year. I love seeing all the flowers starting to bloom and the wonderful shades of green on the trees as leaves begin to form. As you’re reading this, I’m on my way south for my Springtime in the South photo tour where we’ll be photographing in Savannah, Georgia, Charleston, South Carolina  and the South Carolina Low Country. I’ll be sure to share some of my photos from the trip when I get back.

But first, I wanted to share a few photos of spring flowers that I’ve photographed here in the greater DC area in the past couple of weeks. All of a sudden, the temperatures are warmer, the flowers are blooming – and it looks like winter is finally over.
