Last summer, I photographed hydrangeas at both Brookside Gardens and the National Arboretum. I was amazed at how many colors of flowers were blooming on the same plant. This summer, I photographed a few more types of hydrangeas at Brookside Gardens and in a cemetery outside of Chestertown, MD. Here are some of my favorite photos I’ve taken of hydrangeas.

Hydrangeas IV (c) 2008 Patty Hankins
Hydrangeas V (c) 2008 Patty Hankins
Hydrangeas VI (c) 2008 Patty Hankins
Hydrangeas (c) 2007 Patty Hankins
Hydrangeas II (c) 2007 Patty Hankins
I noticed that some of my neighbors have hydrangeas with deep purple blossoms – perhaps next year I’ll be able to photograph them . . .
These are beautiful photos! My grandmother had a garden and a fence lined with hydrangea bushes – they were awesome, beautiful, and blur of pastel colors. Enjoy.
I love Hydrangeas and I have some posted on my blog also (in the older posts). Yours are very nice, Patty!
Nice shots Patty! Great Colors they produce!!
