I thought I’d share something a little different on my blog today. Bill and I have been working with several figure models in our studio recently. Bill usually does most of the shooting – he’s been creating some wonderful tintypes lately. Every now and then I’ll grab my camera and take some photos of some of the models.

Here are a few of my favorite photos of Melancholic.

It’s amazing what an experienced model can do with a little mosquito netting

Melancholic is a musician – so we asked her bring her mandolin and violin into the studio.

And of course we often have flowers around when we’re working in the studio

And finally – here’s a behind the scenes look at Bill photographing with his 8X10 camera. If you’ve never seen a view camera before – take a look at the image on the ground glass. Due to the way view cameras work – the scene appears upside down and backwards on the ground glass. And of course, Kitty Dusty is supervising everything from the comfort of the sofa.
