I’ve recently photographed two sets of spray roses in my studio. One thing I’ve discovered is that spray roses are very delicate – so I need to make sure to photograph them as quickly as I can – before they start developing more spots and blemishes. So while I like some of these photos – I can really see room for improvement until I have them where I want them.

Here are my photos of Jana Spray Roses – a delicate pale pink/peach rose

And some Jessica Spray Roses – a lovely soft yellow and pink rose. All of my photos of the Jessica Roses are multiple images combined using Helicon Focus software to accentuate the depth of field for part of each photo. I’m still experimenting with taking the photos for a stacked image – and for creating them in Helicon Focus. So far – I like them – just need to improve my technique a bit more 🙂

So what do you think of the stacked images I’ve been creating? Do you like the look? Or do you prefer photos like the ones of the Jana roses that are just one image?
