One of the wonderful surprises on my recent trip to Canada was discovering the Rose Carousel at Butchart Gardens. Several friends had assured me I would love Butchart Gardens, all telling me how wonderful the flowers were. What none of them bothered to tell me was that there is a carousel there as well.
The Rose Carousel opened in 2009. It has 30 wonderful carved animals for children to ride, and a couple of chariots for people with disabilities. All of the animals and chariots were hand-crafted by some of the world’s few remaining carvers of carousel animals.
