One of the types of dahlias that I’ve photographed recently are the single dahlias. These dahlias are known for their open center with small florets around the edge of the center and a single row of petals. The petals often overlap each other. Compared to many other types of dahlias, the flowers of the single dahlias are small – usually about 4″ inches across.

Here are some of the single dahlia’s I’ve photographed.

Mystic Dreamer is one of my favorite dahlias – I love the combination of colors in the petals.
