I spent a fair amount of time photographing still lifes in my studio in July. Here are the first of the still lifes I created last month.
Produce from the farmer’s market
Flowers, Sharon Kay Penman books, a cup of tea and a peach – what better way to spend a summer afternoon. Flowers from Wollam Gardens, a flower farm in Jeffersonton, Virginia
A few days after I created the previous still lifes, I headed back into the studio – this time with dessert and some tulips from the grocery store.
And then I bought some amazing bouquets of flowers from The Petal Patch Flower Farm – and had a wonderful time photographing them.
Kitty Dusty wants to make sure everyone knows how helpful she is when I’m photographing in the studio. Not only is she an experienced supervisor, but she is also willing to step in and arrange things if I don’t have them set up correctly!
I think this is enough still lifes for one post. I’ve spent several more sessions in the studio since I took these, I’ll be sharing more of my still life photos soon.
