I spent a few days in New York City last week – saw a few art exhibits, visited a botanical garden, met up with a couple of friends, and had a wonderful time just walking around photographing. When I’m in DC, I’m always a little nervous walking around pointing my camera at buildings, etc – just because you never know when someone may think you’re a threat to national security. In New York, I don’t think anyone notices when someone is walking around with a camera taking photos – perhaps because there’s so much to see – and so many other people doing the same thing. 🙂
The morning I was in Brooklyn I spent a few minutes just wandering around before my meeting. What caught my eye was the wonderful street art on the buildings. So of course – I had to stop and photograph some of it.
First was the work of Alonzo Felix who shared his art on windows as part of the Spring 2015 Window Takeover sponsored by MailChimp.
Just up the street was a wall decorated with an abstract painting in yellow, gray, maroon and white.
And finally photos of a whimsical wall and door at Baked in Brooklyn.
I’ve got more photos of New York City street art that I’ll be sharing in another post soon. In the meantime, please feel free to share this post on social media.
loved them!
