I always love seeing Asiatic lilies growing at local botanical gardens. Some of my favorites are the stunning white lilies that stand out when surrounded by the green leaves.
I’ve photographed several varieties of white lilies – here are a few of my favorites

I love irises. My Mom had a garden full of bearded irises just outside the front door when I was a kid – and everytime I see bearded irises at a local garden I can see my Mom’s garden in my mind.
Last year, I visited Presby Memorial Iris Garden in Montclair, New Jersey – and discovered a garden with literally hundreds (if not thousands) of irises in bloom. I spent several wonderful hours photographing there over a few days. I’m already trying to figure out when I’m heading back there for this year’s irises.
I’ve put some of the photos I took at Presby Memorial Iris Gardens and some other local gardens into a new video – Beautiful Irises II. If you missed my original iris video – you can see it on my blog.
The photographs in my video are accompanied by the wonderful harp music of Pamela Bruner. The sound track is Chopin’s Moderato Cantible from Pamela’s Classical Reverie CD available at PameleBrunerMusic.com
If you like irises – and live anywhere near New Jersey – check out the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens in Montclair, NJ. This year’s bloom is predicted for May 9 – June 6.
And if you like my iris photos – be sure to check out the ones I have for sale in the Iris Gallery on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website

I love seeing (and photographing) the Asiatic lilies at local botanical gardens. Their big bold blossoms always stand out in any scene. It seems like most of the asiatic lilies I photograph are a beautiful shade of pink. Every now and then, I find some white ones in great condition and in wonderful light to photograph.
Probably my favorite white lily is the Eyeliner Lily. The little bits of brown around the edges of the petals define the petals the way a woman’s eyeliner can define her eyes.

Crystal Blanca is a big bold lily with pure white petals

Zambesi is another lily with pure white petals. Usually I find the asiatic lilies indoors in the conservatories – this set of Zambesi lilies were outdoors in beautiful summer sunlight.

Do you have a favorite white lily? If so – let me know in comments. I’m always on the lookout for more wonderful lilies to photograph

It seems like no matter how often I write a blog post with photos of lilies – I’ve always got more photos to share with you. You don’t think it could have anything to do with how much I enjoy photographing them – so that it seems like every time I see some – I end up photographing them????
Anyway – here are some photos of Asiatic lilies I’ve taken in recent months.
