Usually when I think about begonias – I think about plants with small blossoms that bloom in the summer. But then I discovered there is another type of begonias – the Rieger Begonias – also known as the Winter Flowering Begonias.
Most Rieger Begonias are sold as a plant that will bloom indoors through the winter – and then be tossed out. But they don’t have to be. Like other begonias – the Rieger Begonias can be propogated from leaf tip cuttings – so you can enjoy these brightly colored begonias year round.
I’ve photographed a couple of Winter Flowering Begonias over the years – hope you enjoy the photos of them.
